Attorney Profile

Camille Cooper Scroggins works with clients who want to privately resolve disputes with solutions designed to meet the particular needs of their family, while maintaining dignity, compassion and respect for all involved. She has developed a reputation as being highly skilled at minimizing conflict and achieving creative, customized, and often mutually beneficial solutions for restructuring family finances and relationships without court intervention. Practicing family law in Texas since 1990, her focus shifted in the late 1990s away from the courthouse to a concentration in the areas of Collaborative Divorce, Mediation, and otherwise assisting clients with amicable settlements. She has successfully helped many clients achieve favorable outcomes for themselves and their families related to property division, financial support, and co-parenting children.
Camille strongly believes that communication between attorney and client and between the clients themselves is vital to achieving a long-lasting solution that meets the familyís needs. She works closely with her clients to answer their questions and understand their goals, interests and concerns. She discusses the different options for handling their divorce or other family law dispute, explains the legal issues and possible outcomes, and guides them to determine and pursue their best course of action. She makes sure her clients stay actively involved and informed so they can make the best choices for themselves, their family, and their future.

With over 225 hours of training in Collaborative Divorce and Mediation, Camille has been very active in resolving family disputes using these conflict resolution methods. She was recognized as a Master Credentialed Collaborative Professional (inaugural class in 2017) by Collaborative Divorce Texas.  She has been honored by her peers with selection for inclusion in the  The Best Lawyers in America  in the area of Collaborative Family Law in 2013 - 2018 and was named "2015 Lawyer of the Year, Collaborative Law: Family Law, Dallas Texas." Camille was also elected by her peers to be a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing access for all to the Texas justice system. This honor is given to only 2% of attorneys in Texas.

Her other professional memberships include Collaborative Divorce Texas (since inception), the State Bar of Texas (Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution Sections), the Dallas Bar Association (Family Law, Collaborative Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution Sections), and the Collin County Bar Association (Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution/Collaborative Sections).
